To ensure the stability and availability of the affected systems and to prevent potential disruptions to operations, the scheduled maintenance work must be brought forward as an emergency measure and carried out immediately.

Shared NFS - Possibly individual ping losses
Short-term network interruptions may occur during maintenance, which are noticeable through the loss of individual pings. These temporary disruptions can have a minimal impact on NFS connections. In most cases, the connections are restored automatically, but in rare cases delays or short interruptions may occur when accessing NFS shares. Applications with high sensitivity to short latencies may experience this briefly.
iSCSI - Path loss
During maintenance work, individual iSCSI paths may lose connections. In a multipath environment, the remaining path should take over the load so that continuous access to the iSCSI targets is guaranteed. However, if all paths fail or there is no redundancy, this can lead to interruptions when accessing storage resources, which can be particularly problematic for active database or virtualization workloads.

Shared NFS - Possibly individual ping losses
Short-term network interruptions may occur during maintenance, which are noticeable through the loss of individual pings. These temporary disruptions can have a minimal impact on NFS connections. In most cases, the connections are restored automatically, but in rare cases delays or short interruptions may occur when accessing NFS shares. Applications with high sensitivity to short latencies may experience this briefly.
iSCSI - Path loss
During maintenance work, individual iSCSI paths may lose connections. In a multipath environment, the remaining path should take over the load so that continuous access to the iSCSI targets is guaranteed. However, if all paths fail or there is no redundancy, this can lead to interruptions when accessing storage resources, which can be particularly problematic for active database or virtualization workloads.
The necessary maintenance work serves the security, up-to-dateness and performance of our infrastructure. We will endeavor to complete it as quickly as possible and with as little impact on your systems as possible.

As part of scheduled maintenance work, the pumps for the air conditioning units in the UPS room at the CGN3 site will be replaced. The existing pumps have reached the end of their product life cycle (EOL/EOS) and must therefore be replaced. The work will be carried out by a specialized contractor.
During the maintenance work, air conditioning in the UPS room will be ensured by existing redundant equipment. During this period, N+1 redundancy will be available instead of the usual 2N redundancy.

Während dieser Zeit wird die Last auf Generatoren oder auf alternativen Switchboard umgeschaltet.
Während dieses Zeitraums werden alle Dienstleistungen (Smart Hands, Installationen, Arbeitsbesuche usw.) gemäß unseren normalen Verfahren fortgesetzt.

DESCRIPTION: Technicians from Equinix and the vendor will need to replace switches in the NSHV panels; to do so, the panels must be de-energized.
During this time, the load will be switched over to generators or an alternative switchboard.
