We are aware of a critical vulnerability in the Linux kernel (CVE-2026-98432, CVSS 9.8) affecting Red Hat Enterprise Linux and derived systems. A flaw in the handling of IPv4 TCP connections allows an unauthenticated remote attacker to crash the system or cause memory corruption.
Red Hat has released kernel updates for RHEL 8, 9 and 10. We are now rolling out these patches to all affected Red Hat systems under Full Management and Operations with the Patchup package. As a reboot is required to activate the new kernel, we will announce the planned maintenance windows here.
The vulnerability also affects Ubuntu. Canonical has not yet released a fixed kernel. As soon as it becomes available, we will proceed in the same way for Ubuntu systems under Full Management and Operations with the Patchup package and apply the patch promptly.
We will update this notice as soon as there is new information.
